Catholic Women's League
Charity, Work & Loyalty
The motto of the Catholic Women’s league (CWL) is Charity, Work and Loyalty. This group of women is a vital part of any Parish and membership is open to all Catholic women.
Some of the league’s objectives are: to unite Catholic women in their service for God, the Church, the Family and the country; to assist with Parish work; to consolidate Catholic action among Catholic women in defence of Catholic principles; to promote fellowship among its women; to engage in social welfare activities.
The Catholic Women’s League aims to a spiritual growth of members and at a diocesan level undertake various work in the Welfare Sector, including Family Welfare, Adoption and supporting the Mary Immaculate Queen Centre for preschool children. At parish level they assist with parish fundraising and community activities.
The Maryvale branch always welcomes new members who can then participate in a more meaningful way in the life of the parish and have a sense of belonging.. Women wishing to join can contact the president or secretary or simply come to the monthly meeting after the 8am Mass on the first Saturday of the month. The meetings are held in the Parish Centre.
