THE OPENING OF THE PARISH CHURCH

DEAR PARISHIONERS,

Fraternal Greetings to you.

Archbishop Buti Thlagale, on 17th Sept 2020 sent out a Pastoral letter addressed to all the Catholics of the Archdiocese of Johannesburg instructing that Parishes be opened on the weekend of the 27th Sept 2020, for the Public Celebration of Holy Mass.

The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) of Maryvale Catholic Church met to decide how best to implement the Archbishops latest recommendations. These are the PPC’s decisions concerning:

HOLY MASS:

At Maryvale Catholic Church we will return to the Pre – Shutdown Mass Schedule

  • WEEKDAY MORNING MASS: Mon – Sat at 07h00, in the Hall
  • WEEKDAY EVENING MASS: Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri at 18h00, in the Hall
  • WEEKEND MASS: 17h30 (Sat) / 08h00 (Sun) 10h00 (Sun) /17h30 (Sun) in the Church
    PS!!! Weekday masses in the Hall and weekend Masses in the Church

CONFESSIONS:

Confessions on two days of the Week:

  • Wednesday 17h00 – 18h00, in the Hall
  • Saturday 16h00 – 17h15, in the Adoration Chapel.

CATECHISM/ADULT FORMATION:

No Catechism or Adult Formation Classes for the rest of 2020 – These will resume next year.

PARISH GROUPS:

PARISH GROUPS MAY RESUME THEIR DEVOTIONAL ACTIVITIES. THEY NEED TO COMPLY WITH AND ARE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR, ALL THEIR SANITIZING REQUIREMENTS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING AT GROUP ACTIVITIES NUMBERS MAY NOT EXCEED 50, AND KEEP TO A REASONABLE TIME LIMIT.

PARISH OFFICE:

The Parish office is managed by Mrs Bernadette Kock; and is open from Mon – Fri From 08h00 – 16h00.
